Various musings and occasionally some useful code.

Growing some veg

Chilli

We have no foliage in the office and although this is probably the slowest way of getting some, it might prove to be the most rewarding.

iPhone OS 3.0

I've downloaded and installed the new iPhone OS and SDK. It seems I may have to rewrite the app I was working on to take advantage of the new features. It makes sense to use the provided peer-to-peer API instead of my hand-crafted one.

Perhaps over the weekend I'll get a chance to make some progress. Can't wait.

Calling all UK based CiviCRM developers

If you happen to be a developer that is working or has worked with CiviCRM, please get in touch. I want to create a user group or mailing list to keep in touch with a view to a few meet-ups every now and again.

Waiting lists in CiviCRM

Another post on the CiviCRM site, this time I'm documenting a bit of the work on the waiting list system. You can find the post here http://civicrm.org/node/524

Deep in thought

Deep in thought

Kam here deep in thought. Perhaps he needs to take a break. After all, it is POETS day.

Breaking the back of it

I'm not sure I can remember back as far as the beginning of this project but up ahead I do see a glimmer of a hint of a finishing post.

I've had a bit of a steep learning curve but I think I've managed to get a grasp of how civicrm ticks. The next step is moulding it to my will; most of which is done.

CiviCRM - Placeholder Participant Names

After finishing a chunk of changes for a client to make changing registration names after submitting your form, I then had to tweak things further.

As It stands I haven't yet solved the problems that arose. I posted my original article on civicrm's website but I have now included it below. After the article I will provide my current problems, questions and solutions.

Point n Click

I bought a tiny little Canon Digital Ixus 80 for my wife the other day and I have to say that despite its size, it does do a very good job of taking a picture. I'm not a photographer and don't profess to be, nor does a professional snapper user a compact but there are times when it is useful to have one.

Later this year I will get myself a Canon powerhot g10 which is currently getting good reviews across the tinterweb. I used a g9 and was suitably impressed so in theory this one should be great as most reviews I have read say it beats the g9 hands down.

CiviCRM success story

While squatting in the civicrm irc channel the other day Andrew_Mallis was asking about a multisite install of civicrm and drupal. Apparently he got it working and given that there's a good chance I'll need to do this too, here is the forum thread with the answers. http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,6458.0.html

Coffee shop code

I think I could probably count on 1 hand the number of times I've ventured into a coffee shop on my own to purchase a beverage. There's normally no need for me to be there; I don't like tea or coffee, I don't like the smell and I don't know the code.
